The AirLink GX400 Multi-Purpose Intelligent Gateway represents a revolutionary new platform for Sierra Wireless.

Sierra Wireless is pleased to announce that the AirLink GX400 is now available on the Sprint 3G mobile broadband network. The AirLink GX400, certified for use on the Sprint network, enables customers to deploy high-speed, reliable connections for both mobile and fixed/portable applications.

VERSATILE, MULTI-PURPOSE PLATFORM. Flexible and powerful enough to meet the needs of a wide range of applications in the transportation, industrial M2M and enterprise markets, the AirLink GX400 will make solution deployment faster, easier and less expensive for mobile system operators, OEMs, application service providers and end customers. With the AirLink GX400, system integrators can standardize on a single gateway platform to serve the needs of all of their customers.

POWERFUL NEW DESIGN. Sierra Wireless boosted processing performance five-fold, basing the AirLink GX400's design on an ARM 11-class microprocessor architecture operating with high-capacity DDR memory. This provides a powerful foundation for exploiting existing and new features, network technologies and functionality. Other hardware enhancements include external antenna connectors, Ethernet, Serial and USB "OTG" (On-the-Go), as well as an expansion slot to accommodate future integrated add-on capabilities such as additional physical interfaces and wireless local and personal area networking and communications.

FUTURE PROOF DESIGN. The addition of an expansion slot on the GX400 is a key feature for the enablement of new features and functionality without driving the need for hardware redesign and certification.

The GX400 3G to LTE upgrade program enables Sierra Wireless customers to purchase and deploy  3G devices now and have the option to upgrade to LTE when available. When the LTE version of GX440 is available, customers with upgrade ready devices will be able to exchange their GX400 for GX440.

is optimized for high-speed cellular networks. The North American model
has a dual diversity antenna optimized for 850/1900 MHz, while the Europe/
Asia model is optimized for 850/2100 MHz, to provide improved performance
for HSUPA. In areas where HSUPA is not available the Raven X is backward
compatible to HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE and GPRS technologies.

EV-DO Wireless Data

Featuring advanced processing power and expanded memory, the Raven X is optimized for high-speed cellular networks. Leveraging high-speed EV-DO Revision A technology, the Sierra Wireless AirLink Raven X provides wide area wireless data access at speeds up to 3.1 Mbps downlink and 1.8 Mbps uplink. Users can expect average upload speeds of 300 - 500 Kbps, and download speeds of 450 Kbps - 1.4 Mbps. In areas where EV-DO Rev A is not available the Raven X is backward compatible to EV-DO Rev 0 and CDMA 1x technology.
